Red Cabbage with Gammon

Ingredients

  • 2 Medium Onions (Halved and Sliced)
  • 2 Medium Apples (Peeled and Cubed)
  • 100ml Red Wine
  • 4oz Gammon (cut in strips)
  • 4 tablespoons Castor Sugar
  • 100ml Red Wine VInegar
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 stick Cinnamon (snapped in half)
  • 1 stalk Mace
  • Small amount of black pepper
  • pinch Salt
  • knob Butter (on top of the ingredients)

Directions

Step 1
Put all ingredients in a heatproof earthenware dish cover and put in the oven at 150C and cook for 3½ hours
